Three days of fun await for all the family, beginning with the crowning of the Gala VIPs on Friday, July 28 at the Public Institute at 7.15pm. Handed the honour for this year's event are Milne's Primary School pupils Chloe Campbell and Maxwell Sidney, both 12, who will be welcomed as Gala Ambassadors at the tombola evening, also at the institute. Doors for this open at 7pm with eyes down half an hour later.

Bellie Church hall and gardens will play host to strawberry tea and children's activities from 2pm to 3.30pm on the Saturday.

Later the same day, at 5pm, attention turns to the Murrayfield Bridge where the duck race will be under starter's orders. Ducks can be purchased for £2 at the chemist.

The evening will see the gala quiz taxing those little grey cells over at the Public Institute, doors opening at 7.30pm for an 8pm start. Teams of up to six are welcome with entry costing £2 per person. Refreshments will be available.

Sunday is the one everyone will have been waiting for when the main gala event takes place in the Square, running from 1pm through to 4pm.

Once again the vintage tractor rally will be paying a visit, with live music and entertainment running throughout the afternoon. A wide variety of stalls and activities will be on hand, including a bottle stall, raffles, the wheel of fortune, candy floss, bowling, putting cricket and ducks in the fountain, to name but a few. The gala barbecue will also be fired up to feed the hungry.

The Jean Carr Challenge Hill Race is schedule to get under way at 1.15pm from the square.

Running alongside the gala days is the walking family treasure hunt, aimed at primary school age youngsters.

Participants will be asked to follow the clues which will take them on a stroll round the village in search of numbers. Sheets will be available from Monday, July 24, costing £1 from the chemist and will also be on sale at the tombola evening. All entries to be handed in by Tuesday, August 1. There will be prizes for different age groups.
