THE Fochabers on-call firefighting team are getting ready to head round local streets with their collection buckets in aid of good causes.

Last year saw the firefighters brave freezing weather to do their bit for good causes, raising a laudable total of £1500 thanks to the ongoing generosity of people in the area.

New for last year was the addition of Lhanbryde to the usual runs.

Santa and his helpers will be joining the firefighters and their festively decorated fire engine for this year's charity effort is set to get under way on Friday, December 15 at Lhanbryde before attention switches to Fochabers the following evening.

Sunday, December 17 is the turn of Mosstodloch before the collections wind up the next night at Spey Bay, Kingston and Garmouth.

All the collections are scheduled to begin at 6pm.

The dates and times may be subject to change due to operational demands. For updates on the collections, and other Fochabers fire station news, follow the station's Facebook page.
