The station Facebook page recently posted photos showing parked cars leaving very little room for vehicles to pass on Christie Place, where the facility is situated.

The post points out that the on-call firefighters need quick and easy access to the station in an emergency which badly parked cars can obstruct thereby unnecessarily delaying their response time.

Such parking, whether on Christie Place or elsewhere, also restricts access to the fire engine and other larger emergency vehicles, such as ambulances.

The last month has seen the crew kept extremely busy with call-outs.
