Fish landings and cargo round-up from Buckie Harbour

THERE was a marked drop in the quantity of fish landed at Buckie Harbour over the course of last week.

Just 46 boxes of fish/prawns/squid and 35 bags of clams were taken ashore, compared with 339 boxes and 111 bags respectively the previous week.

Landing their catches at Buckie were: Our May; Boy Sam; Skua; Osprey; Deeside; King Explorer; Ocean Rose; Endeavour; Brantia.

Two cargo vessels called at Buckie Harbour last week.

On July 4 the MV Fri Lake (Bahamas) docked, importing 2810.7 tonnes of soya from Rotterdam before sailing light to Fraserburgh the following day.

The German-registered MV Anita Hagedorn arrived light from Nykobing (Denmark) on July 5 and exported 600.24 tonnes of malting barley to Halmstad (Sweden).
