Sunday, October 2 will see the Findochty Blue Light Festival held at the village's town hall.

Running from 1pm to 4pm, the first time such an event has been held in the Buckie area, the festival aims to highlight the essential role played by the different emergency services in the local area. Many of the members of these emergency services are volunteers or combine their life-saving roles with their day jobs.

A day for all the family is planned, with all ages extended a welcome.

In addition to celebrating the role of the emergency services, who often put their lives on the line to keep communities safe, the event will also present a chance to learn more about what they do.

A selection of emergency vehicles are set to be on hand, as well as a variety of stalls, food and more.

Currently due to attend the festival are Police Scotland, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, the Scottish Ambulance Service, the RNLI and HM Coastguard.

The event will be aiming to build on the success of the Moray Blue Light Festival in Elgin, which held its second event earlier in the summer.
