After a successful inaugural event last year – the first time such an event has been held in the Buckie area – members of the local emergency services will converge on the town hall on Sunday, October 1 from 11am to 3pm.

The festival aims to highlight the essential role played by the different emergency services in the local area. Many of the members of these emergency services are volunteers or combine their life-saving roles with their day jobs.

A day for all the family is planned, with all ages extended a welcome.

In addition to celebrating the role of the emergency services, who often put their lives on the line to keep communities safe, the event will also present a chance to learn more about what they do.

A selection of emergency vehicles are set to be on hand, as well as a variety of stalls, food and more.

Last year's Blue Light Festival saw an estimated 1000 people come along and enjoy themselves. Two of the stars of the show were two police dogs – five-year-old Belgian malinois general purpose police dog Ice and Beans, a two-year-old cocker spaniel drugs detection dog. They were accompanied by handler PC Rob Evans.
