In Findochty, Sunday, November 26 is the date to mark in the diary to welcome the festive season into town.

The town hall will be the focus of the event, with doors opening at 6pm for a 6.30pm start.

To get people in the festive spirit there will Christmas carols in the hall before everyone is invited outside to witness the switch-on. Refreshments will be on offer after the ceremony.

Saturday, December 2 will be a busy day in both Fochabers and Portknockie.

The square in Fochabers will host the switch-on 4.00pm. There will be stalls run by Milne's Primary and Milne's High School, as well as a visit from Santa and some musical entertainment. More details will be available nearer the time – follow the Village Association Facebook page for updates.

Over in Portknockie, the switch-on will take place at the Millennium Garden at 6.30pm, with hot drinks and sausage rolls afterwards in the Seafield Hall, where local schoolchildren will be performing Christmas songs.
