Having recently been awarded charitable status, Findochty and Buckie Development Trust (FAB DT) Steering Group are on a recruitment drive for members from which up to nine trustees will be drawn.

Development trusts are community organisations which are owned and managed by local people who develop projects focussed on economic, environmental and social regeneration. These can range from small quick fixes like repairing a path, to more complex goals like creating a multi-purpose community centre.

Drop-in information sessions have been organised for Monday, February 20 in Findochty Town Hall, between 7pm and 8pm, and The Hub, East Church Street, Buckie on Wednesday, February 22, also between 7pm and 8m, when folk can come and chat to members of the steering group over a cuppa. These will be followed by a more formal general meeting in Buckie Thistle FC’s Victoria Park Function Hall in Buckie on Wednesday, March 15.

Anyone aged 16 plus who lives in the Findochty and Buckie area (Moray Council Ward 3) is eligible to apply. Membership is also open to anyone who has an interest in, or connection to, the area.
