THERE was a double platinum celebration for Arradoul SWI members to celebrate when they came together for their June meeting.

The start of the month was dominated by the Queen's platinum jubilee but it also marked a very special occasion for Arradoul member Jessie Low, who marked 70 years with the SWI.

Jessie joined the Rural in her hometown back in 1952 aged just 17 and later joined Arradoul when she moved to the Buckie area. She said the Rural has played a major role in her life and has very much enjoyed learning new skills, meeting new people and making new friends.

The meeting was also an opportunity for members to enjoy a good blether, tea and homebakes.

The competition winners were: Flower of the month – 1. Marian Stringer, 2. Susan Clarke; Favourite accessory – 1. Jessie Low, 2. Marian Stringer.

Although there will be no meetings in the summer months, members will be kept busy baking and crafting for the afternoon teas and also the Keith Show competitions.

Afternoon teas will be served on the first four Sundays in July from 2pm-4pm in Arradoul Hall. All are welcome to come along and enjoy delicious sandwiches and homebakes and take home some goodies from the sales table.
