CULLEN's on-call firefighting crew will be hoping to spread some festive cheer of their own when they hold their annual Christmas charity street collection.

Last year the team collected an amazing £1500 thanks to the support and generosity of local communities served by the station.

Half of the proceeds were sent to the Firefighters' Charity while the remaining monies were divided between the Family Support Trust – which is a charity for firefighters and their families – Keiran's Legacy and the McBoyle Hall in Portknockie.

The crew will be hoping folk are feeling generous again as the festively decorated fire engine, plus Santa and helpers, get set to roll.

The firefighters will set out with their collection buckets on Tuesday, December 12 when the ports of call will be Birkenbog, Bleachfield, Kirktown, Berryhillock, Lintmill and Seatown in Cullen. The following day they are off to Portknockie before finishing off on Thursday and Friday at Cullen east side and west side respectively.

The scheduled time for the collections is approximately 6.30pm to 9pm on each evening, although that could change due to operational requirements. Follow the Cullen fire station Facebook page for further details and updates.
