Creative Breaks Fund to boost short breaks for carers

CHARITIES are being invited to apply for funding to help develop and deliver short breaks and services for carers.

A total of around £1.1 million is available to through the Creative Breaks Fund aimed at helping carers of adults (aged 21 years and over), young carers (caring for children or adults) and the people that they care for.

To be eligible for funding, projects must be able to evidence how their activities will benefit both the carers and the people they care for, by providing a break from their normal routine, and to sustain the caring relationship.

Short breaks activities can take many different forms, including breaks away, days out, or even regular short activities.

The maximum grant award is £35,000, and for unincorporated organisations the maximum grant award is £10,000. The average grant award in previous years has been around £15,000.

The deadline for applications is 5pm on Thursday, May 25, 2023. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
