Community lunches back on the menu in Buckie

BUCKIE community lunches are back on the menu again after a Covid-enforced break of two years.
The monthly lunches aim to help combat social isolation and have also been used to provide informal contact with a variety of agencies.
Friday, April 22 saw the first post-Covid lunch held and was well supported by the community, volunteers and partner agencies.
Due to the positive response, the Buckie Community Monitoring Group, supported by Moray Food Plus, have scheduled further community lunches on the last Monday of the month for May (30), June (27), July (25), August (29) and September (30).
Lunch is served from 12 noon-1.30pm in Fishermen’s Hall. There is no charge but donations are welcomed.
The group will then review this project prior to confirming future dates.
The community lunches have their origins in the A Better Buckie campaign, the central aim of the Local Outcome Improvement Plan. The plan, which was launched in August 2019, is set to run for 10 years.
