COMMUNITIES in the Buckie area have been adding a a bit of sparkle to the festive season with the switching on of Christmas lights.

In Findochty there was a welcome return to the community celebrations around the switch on.

An afternoon of festive fun for all the family got under way up at the Church of Scotland hall at 2pm, which ran through to run through until around 4.30pm.

From there the focus shifted down the brae to the Admirals, where local DJ Paul T was pumping out the tunes for a couple of hours from 4pm until 6pm.

The main event of the evening, the lights switch-on itself, took place on Jubilee Terrace.

After two years of Covid regulations, Portknockie residents were once again able to come along and appreciate the efforts of Portknockie Community Association and their colleagues in the community council in bringing the Millennium Garden to life with a Christmas tree and lights displays.

Although there was no formal switching on ceremony, the good folk of Fochabers were also delighted to welcome back their festive lights display situated mainly on High Street and outside Bellie Church.

Buckie's Christmas lights were the first to go on in the area, the switching on ceremony forming the finale of the Christmas Kracker event.

Keep your eyes peeled for more festive lights display pictures from Buckie and the surrounding area!
