THERE was a shock in store this afternoon for one Buckpool householder when a car came ploughing through her front garden wall.

Just before 2.30pm a dark blue Ford Focus crashed through part of the wall at 8 Barhill Road, leaving rubble strewn about at the driveway entry with the car coming to rest near the front door.

The front of the vehicle also showed what appeared to be quite extensive damage.

The female driver is believed to have been proceeding up St Peter’s Road before failing to take the corner as it turns into Barhill Road.

Two police units, along with an ambulance and a fire engine, were in attendance.

The junction between St Peter’s Road, Barhill Road, the Gollachy recycling facility and Buckpool Golf Club is known to be something of an accident blackspot with a number of incidents and near-misses occurring there over recent years.
