THREE boats landed just over 140 boxes of fish at Buckie Harbour last week.

In what was a far quieter week than the one previously, some 142 boxes were taken ashore along with 31 bags of clams. This compares to 445 boxes and no bags of clams the week before.

The vessels landing their catches were Eternal Light, Lily Oak VI and Chloe Ella.

Two cargo boats called at Buckie last week. First in was the Dutch-registered MV Confidence, importing 1167.3 tonnes of malt from King's Lynn on February 5 before sailing light to Kvinesdal (Norway) two days later.

On February 9 MV Lianne (Antigua) imported a transformer (steelwork) weighing 126tonnes from Lochaline, sailing light the same day to New Holland (England).
