A COMMUNITY volunteer in the Buckie area is set to appear as a guest speaker at this year's Join the Dots event.

Run by tsiMoray, the annual conference for community groups in the region is set to come to Elgin Town Hall on Thursday, March 21 from 10am to 4pm and this year will be focussing on three priorities, entitled Building Belonging, Using AI and Technology for Good and Advancing Local Climate Action.

Joining the team of guest speakers at the event will be Christine Fairbairn, who will be sharing her thoughts on how our local communities and third sector can prioritise building belonging in what they do. She is the treasurer and a trustee of the Findochty and Buckie Development Trust and is part of a team who set up the Buckie Community Hub to support those affected by the cost-of-living crisis.

Christine is also the Engagement and Membership Lead with Scottish Rural Action, with a focus on driving rural empowerment and social impact. She has worked for third sector organisations as well as the local authority in roles relating to homelessness, mental health, employability, mentoring and adult & family learning.
