The show will return to Linzee Gordon Park in the town on Sunday August 27 running from 10am to 4pm and will feature over 700 vehicles from down the years.

The event will also feature the anniversaries of many vehicle types as well as the Show and Shine competition.

The show this is year is the biggest one to date with over 700 entries.

Car show chairman John Clark said: "The anniversary everyone seems excited about is the 50th anniversary of the hot hatchback.

"Everyone has memories of them from being the first car they got caught unknowingly breaking the speed limit in to their first romantic adventure. We're also marking 120 years of Ford and Vauxhall along with 100 years of Triumph and MG and lots more special awards.

"Our honouring of vehicle anniversaries has become very popular with entrants who call them caraversaries

"It's not only UK or EU cars were honouring with anniversaries as the American Corvette celebrates 70 years in 2023 and we have a special award for the best one on show as well as a Trophy for Best American Car on Show.

"In all the lovely vehicles that will grace Linzee Gordon Park on the 27th one vehicle will look slightly odd and out of place and that's a barnfind wreck that looks like it's come from the bottom of the Moray Firth and it's our project restoration car which hopefully will be totally restored and unveiled at our 2024 show."

The response to this year's show from entrants has left Mr Clark and the rest of the organisers stunned.

He continued: "We were really taken aback by how quick entries filled up for this year in just a week; we had over 500 entries and we had to close down the website as postal entries had not come in yet.

"We've a wide range of car makes entered with the oldest being from 1912 right up to 2023

"This year we welcome back various club stands who continue to support our show and bid for Best Club Stand Award. Last year we ran a separate Show and Shine for the club stands and it went down well so this year were doing the same

"The main part for us as a committee is to put on an enjoyable day out where vehicle enthusiasts can enjoy themselves and members of the public can attend and reminisce as everyone has memories of the cars from their past.

"Our show is free to attend we don't charge entry fees, parking is free, we don't charge the stalls or traders who attend our show.

"For everyone who has entered we have put our heart and souls into making the day a memorable show with a host of awards and prizes. Every entrant gets free fish and chips for their lunch."

In addition to the vehicles there will be around 40 different trade stands and craft tents and a host of food vendors. Charity stalls will also be on hand raising funds for good causes.
