THE members of Buckie Choral Union are putting the finishing touches to their forthcoming spring concert when they will be welcoming back an old friend.

Soprano soloist Dr Kathryn Arnould worked as a GP locally for many years but is also a trained singer and sang with the Choral Union both in the choir and as a soloist. She has also performed solo recitals and recorded two CDs during her time in Moray.

Since moving away Dr Arnould has continued to train and perform, and the Choral Union are delighted that she is returning to sing the soprano solos in Eternal Light by Howard Goodall (probably best known as the composer of the theme tune to The Vicar of Dibley).

The baritone soloist in this work will be Andrew McIntosh, vocal coach at Gordonstoun, who thrilled the audience at the Choral Union’s golden anniversary performance of Messiah last year.

Both soloists and the choir will also perform some shorter works during the concert, which will be held on Sunday, March 17 at 7.30pm in St Peter’s Church, Buckie. Tickets are £10 and available from choir members, Right Medicine pharmacy or at https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/
