Buckie area roadworks round-up

SCOTTISH Water works are set to close a road in Cullen for 10 working days.

Seafield Street at the junction with Foreshore Road will be shut from March 11-22, with a diversion route following Seafield Street, A98, Seatown and Foreshore Road.

In Findochty, Scottish Water will be evacuating and renewing a broken trap and shaft opposite 17 Mid Street, due to finish on February 21.

At Taigh Na Creagan on Great Eastern Road, Buckie Openreach will be enabling new localised ultra-fast broadband connections. This activity involves excavation to instal a telecoms duct to provide essential service and reinstatement. Work is scheduled to begin over February 20-21 lasting for three working days.

Along the road outside the under-construction Ocean Winds operational base at 30 Commercial Road Moray Council will be installing a new surface water drainage pipework across road. This is scheduled to begin between February 19-27 and last for 10 working days.

Meanwhile, over in Buckie, Moray Council are continuing their carriageway and footpath resurfacing works on North High Street. This got under way September 18 last year and is expected to last 136 working days in all.

Scottish Gas Network (SGN) will be working over the entire length of Cluny Terrace in Buckie to replace gas mains. Work should start by April 16 for 133 working days.

Moray Council will be installing new water mains adjacent to the Scottish Episcopal Church, Cluny Square, Buckie, which is scheduled to start by February 27 for 10 working days.

The council will also be on site at the footpath from East Church Street to Logie's Lane at some point by February 27 for 30 working days to effect repairs to the concrete steps.

At number 16, Orlington, Newlands Lane, Buckie the local authority will be removing a drainage channel at the bottom of the driveway and replacing it with a new aqua channel.

Lasting three working days, it is expected to get under way between February 22 and March 1.

Finally, over in Fochabers, SGN will be at Castle Street working on a gas escape, with the work expected to be complete by March 14.
