The 121st show may have been absent since 2019 but it was impossible to tell as it came roaring back in style on Saturday, August 13.

Regular competitors were joined by fresh faces as the event provided a fun afternoon for all the family.

A total of 21 categories were up for grabs, encompassing the likes of flowers, fruit, vegetables, wine and crafts, as well as a junior section. As the show only got the nod relatively late, it had not been possible to pass the schedule on to Cullen Primary School before the summer holidays. However, in the end that did not deter a healthy number of high quality entries from young people both locally and further afield.

As well as the entries on display there were a variety of stalls, a selection of vintage tractors and refreshments in the Jubilee Hall. Even the weather played ball, the event basking in glorious sunshine.

Claiming the Baldwin Cup for Most Points Overall (Gents) was Alan Morrison while Rhona Lewis lifted the Rose Bowl for Most Points Overall (Ladies).

Event organiser Maimie Mitchell said: "It was a really fine day, we had a very good turnout, which we're all delighted with.

"At first we were quite apprehensive as it's been two years we haven't been able to have the show, but people have come out and supported us. I think folk are pleased to see events like the flower show back up and running after two years of nothing.

"The junior section went surprisingly well despite the late start and there were a lot of really impressive entries.

"I think many folk did a lot of sewing during lockdown, we had a had a wonderful industrial section."

Presenting the trophies was show stalwart Mary Jesson.
