While there will not be the usual Christmas fayre in the town as had been the case before the pandemic, there will nevertheless be plenty for all the family to do before the big event.

An afternoon of festive fun gets under way up at the Church of Scotland hall at 2pm, which is set to run through until 4.30pm.

From there the focus shifts down the brae to the Admirals, where local DJ Paul T will be pumping out the tunes for a couple of hours from 4pm until 6pm.

The main event of the evening, the lights switch-on itself, is scheduled to take place on Jubilee Terrace at approximately 5.30pm.

The committee have voiced their thanks to both the church and the Admirals for their help.
