In their role, volunteer puppy socialisers give a loving home and help prepare puppies over their first 14 months of life before they begin full time training as life-changing assistance dogs.

This is a unique opportunity to not only care for a lovely dog but also to make a significant difference in changing the lives of people affected by autism and disability.

Without the work of dedicated volunteers up and down the country, Assistance Dogs would not be able to offer the service it does.

Assistance Dogs Scotland CiC is a Moray-based non-profit organisation set up in June 2021 to train assistance dogs to assist people with autism, mental health illness, and/or additional support needs.

An assistance dog encourages independence and gives the handler the ability to carry out daily activities.
