BRAVE volunteers will walk on fire in Banff to raise money for Marie Curie.

The terminal illness support charity's Deveron and District fundraiser branch have organised the event for Friday, March 20 at Banff Rugby Club.

Those with a burning ambition to perform the stunt across hot embers are being asked to get in touch.

Participants will be briefed and prepared to walk by experts from Blaze Firewalking, while spectators are encouraged to head down from 7pm onwards where Deveron FM will be providing entertainment and the rugby club's bar open.

Anyone taking part must register in advance and the fee to take part is £20, with each participant requested to raise at least £100 in support of the Marie Curie Nursing Service.

Fundraising group member, Janet Thomson from Portsoy said: “My husband Bill was looked after by our local Marie Curie nurses and what a huge support that was to me and our whole family. I’m hoping lots of people will rise to this challenge and raise lots of funds too.

"It’s going to be a great night!’
