CORNHILL Highland Games is set to hold a Burns Supper fundraiser for this year's summer event.

As well as supporting the financial cost of holding the games, it is a chance for the community to celebrate at the Fife Lodge Hotel on January 26.

Marketing and PR coordinator for the Cornhill Highland Games, Vivien Rae, said: "Music will be provided by The Hipflask Ceilidh band who performed last year and were very well received by guests.

"There will be a fundraising raffle on the night and we are grateful to the local businesses who have already donated items.

"The new committee was delighted with the success of the 2018 games.

"The weather was excellent, the warm sunny day brought the crowds to Cornhill.

"A large number of competitors travelled from near and far to participate in the many events, from track and field to traditional Highland Games.

"Financially, the games generated a healthy surplus in 2018, which has allowed the committee to start planning for the 2019 games, scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 1."

For applications for stalls, caterers and competitors see the games website for details.
