A MOTHER is calling for answers over an explosion at a caravan park in Keith last summer which resulted in five young men – including two from Cullen and one from Macduff – suffering severe burns.

Kyle Stewart (19) of Elgin, is still unable to feed, wash or dress himself after sustaining injuries during the explosion at a wooden chalet at Beechtree Caravan Park on July 25 last year.

Kyle’s mother Tracey (38) spoke of her disappointment that, more than a year on from the blast, she and her family were no nearer to finding out what happened.

She said: “It’s so upsetting, having to wait for answers. Kyle is still suffering from pain and frequent nightmares.

“I just want to know what happened.”

The suspected gas explosion also left Ryan Simpson (23) of Macduff, Colin Sutcliffe (18) of Lintmill, Darren Hird (18) of Cullen and Niall Coull, from Keith, nursing horrific injuries.
