SHARKS with poisonous spines, huge teeth and even wings will feature at Macduff Marine Aquarium next week.

The attraction is holding its annual shark week and visitors will be introduced to some of the weird and wonderful sharks that make their home around Scotland’s coast.

The aquarium is home to six different shark species and has its own shark nursery where baby sharks and rays are hatched and cared for before being released into the wild.

Sandra Bisset, aquarium learning officer said: "Visitors love seeing the aquarium’s sharks and we are always excited to show off our newly emerged babies. Shark week is an opportunity to highlight how important they are to the marine ecosystem and how important they are to people too."

The event runs from Saturday, October 15, to Sunday, October 23, and for more information contact the aquarium by calling (01261) 833369 or visit www.macduff-aquarium.org.uk
