TWO Macduff musicians are aiming to conquer the heavy metal scene in Europe when they embark on a tour this summer.

Liam Watt (24) and Gavin Allan (23) have been in bands together since their school days at Banff Academy, and are now half of the Aberdeen-based group, Semperfi – Latin for ‘always faithful’.

The group have just seen their first full-length album released, and are set to tour Holland, Germany and Belgium for the first time.

Liam, who plays guitar in the band, told ‘The Banffshire Journal’: "Gavin and I first started a band at Banff Academy called Relentless, and since then our band line-ups and names have changed, but we have always stayed together.

"The latest Semperfi line-up have been together since 2008, and the two other band members, Gary Addison and James Gibb, are from Ellon."
