MORE than 35 licensed premises were visited and numerous youths stopped and searched in Cullen, Portknockie, Findochty, Buckie and Keith in the latest phase of the police’s Operation Moravia.
The community-based initiative is aimed at dealing with issues that blight communities, such as anti-social behaviour, drug-dealing and other crime.
On Saturday, a 22-year-old man was charged and will be reported to the procurator fiscal in connection with vandalism, threats and an assault.
In addition, two under-age people had tobacco seized, two were dealt with over littering and one road traffic offence was detected.
Sergeant Craig Stuart said: "The first phase of the operation saw a total of 12 officers patrolling on foot in Buckie, Cullen, Portknockie, Findochty, Portgordon and Keith from the early part of Saturday evening for a period of around eight hours.
"Officers paid attention to areas where anti-social behaviour has been identified as an issue by members of the communities.
"The message I wish to give the public is that we are listening to your concerns, responding to them and will target and address the issues identified by you.
