THE former Royal Bank of Scotland branch on Turriff's High Street could be set for conversion to two flats after the latest in a line of applications was made to Aberdeenshire Council.

Agents Mantell Ritchie acting on behalf of local businessman Eddie Morrison have submitted plans to convert the former bank into two, two bedroom self contained flat.

This would include the creation of a second front door onto the High Street using one of the existing windows on the frontage.

Following its closure the property has seen several previous applications including an attempt by developers Sava Estates to turn the bank into a cafe.

This itself followed the withdrawal of plans which had previously sought by Sava to turn the premises into a takeaway which had attracted oppositions from neighbours.

Comments on the application can be made via Aberdeenshire's planning department website.
