The Turriff Pipe Band hosted a really successful soup and sweet at their Pipe Band Hall at the weekend.

This fundraiser raised an impressive £2200 for the pipe band who secured its first title in almost 100 years earlier this year.

In May the Turriff band took home the Grade 3B championship at the British Pipe Band Championships in Paisley.

Pipe Major Andrew Gray was thrilled with the amount that the band managed to raise at the fundraiser.

He has been in the role at the band since October 2017.

He said: “This is a big fundraiser for us and we really appreciate all the support from the Turriff community.

“All the money raised is really as it keeps us up and running as a pipe band.

“As well as paying for travelling to competitions and new equipment.

“Every member of the band really appreciates everyone who donated to the band at the weekend.

“All in all thanks to everyone who came along .”
