All lit up for Christmas
The festive spirit was alive and well in Cuminestown on Sunday as the village held its annual Christmas lights switch-on.
Once again the the honours of turning on the display were given to the winner of Monquhitter Primary School’s colouring competition.
Winner Caol-ila Bourne performed the switch-on and runner-up prizes were presented to fellow pupils Sophia Nelson (P2-4) and Betsy Stephen (P5-7).

To music provided by younger members of Turriff Pipe Band, Santa arrived in his inimitable style on the back of a suitably decorated and lit up tractor before joining in the festivities in the hall.
He also provided an early Chirstmas present for Monquhitter Amenities group, handing over a £500 donation from the local Nisa stores.
A sing-a-long, balloon sculptures and tasty homebakes all made for a fun celebration.
