Kemnay Football Club's 2014 age group team has been supported for the new season.

The squad has been sponsored by Altera Infrastructure which has provided new strips, training tops, footballs, coaches tops and training equipment.

It has provided a further boost for the youngsters now that local football festivals have resumed.

Coach Richard Openshaw said: "The 2014 team was formed in 2019 when the children were in primary one and we started out with seven players.

"When football returned after the first lockdown that quickly rose to 21 boys and girls, who enjoy their weekly training sessions outside.

"It's great to see the children active and enjoying themselves as part of a team.

"Finding funds for a team strip is never easy, but the post-pandemic economy made it even harder.

"The support we have received from Altera has been fantastic and we cannot thank them enough.

"The children are very proud to wear their new kits, especially now that the football festivals have resumed."

The team trains on a Wednesday night at Bogbeth Park from 6pm to 7pm.

Altera Infrastructure has a base in Aberdeen and provides assets to the offshore energy industry.
