WELFARE League football clubs are gearing up for the new campaign after the first set of fixtures were released.

Elizabethan Link Up and Mormond Thistle will kick off the 2020 North-East Scotland FA season when the teams meet in the Gordon Leask Cup at Kessock Park in Fraserburgh on Friday, March 27.

Invercairn United will be out for a fourth successive DeeJays Nightclub League crown, having powered their way to a quadruple of trophies last season.

Three new teams have been welcomed into the association for this term - recently-formed duo Station FC and Boddam United, alongside Banff Rovers who have made the switch from the Moray Welfare League.

Banff have been immediately thrust into the top tier through a majority vote by member clubs after Fyvie's decision to join the Aberdeenshire Amateur ranks.

With the traditional curtain-raiser Gordon Leask Cup comprising the majority of the early fixtures, Mintlaw host New Pitsligo in the initial DeeJays Nightclub League game of the season on Saturday, April 4.

The opening weekend is as follows:-

Friday March 27 - Elizabethan Link Up v Mormond Thistle

Saturday, March 28 - Mintlaw v Invercairn United; Glenugie United v Bellslea; New Pitsligo v Banff Rovers; St Combs v New Deer.

Sunday, March 29 - Methlick v Station; Macduff v Buchanhaven; Longside Thistle v Haven; Boddam United v Ardallie (League Two); Cuminestown United v Peterhead United (League Two).

The full fixture list (running up until the last weekend of April) is available on the https://www.facebook.com/NorthEastScotlandFootballAssociation/
