Buckie went into the game on May 7, 2011 as leaders by two points and needing just a draw to retain the championship.

Deveronvale had produced a superb season under boss Scott Anderson to stay close to Jags' heels throughout the season, and knew a famous derby win would give them the glory.

A huge crowd packed inside the Viccy and it was Vale who were on course for the title when captain and Buckie boy Mark Chisholm nodded them into the lead just before half time.

Gregg Carrol rallied his Buckie team for the second half and within two minutes Charlesworth raced through to level the scores.

It stayed at 1-1 until the final minute and with Buckie fans counting down the clock, their team was awarded a free kick 25 yards from goal.

The home supporters chanted the name of their free kick expert Andy Low, and the striker duly came up with the goods by curling a perfect free kick beyond keeper James Blanchard into the net.

Wild celebrations broke out among the home diehards, with the inevitable pitch invasion moments later to acclaim back-to-back titles for Buckie.

Vale were left to lick their wounds and watch their rivals go up for the cup, with skipper Michael Morrison and Kevin Small lifting the famous silverware in front of a jubilant Jags faithful.
