KEITH co-manager Tommy Wilson was “proud” of the account his side gave of themselves in Tuesday night’s 2-0 Scottish Cup second round loss against Clyde, see highlights below.

First half goals from former Scotland international David Goodwillie and defender Scott Rumsby gave the League One visitors the victory at Kynoch Park – but overall there was little to separate the sides.

“It was a difficult game against good opposition but I thought we gave a good account of ourselves,” Wilson said.

“Overall we are delighted with the performance. I thought we passed the ball well and there were some great performances – I don’t think we had a bad player.

“This will give the boys confidence and let them know that they can play this level.

“We proved we can play at this level, we certainly competed. Clyde are a good side and all the best to them but we are certainly proud of our players.”

The two sides were evenly-matched throughout, but David Goodwillie’s superior quality was clear to see – and he gave the visitors the lead on 21 minutes.

It was 2-0 on 33 minutes as home keeper Greg Simpson, who was appealing for a foul, dropped the ball in the box for Scott Rumsby to turn home from close range.

Clyde will go on to face Ayr United in the third round on April 3, while the immediate future remains uncertain for Keith.
