From Shetland to Shotts loyal fans have been helping out and digging deep to keep their teams solvent for the upcoming season when games resume.

A spokesman for Turriff United who have just recently joined the scheme said: "In an effort to raise some funds for Turriff United Football Club during the coronavirus lockdown which could see us having no football to play for a long time yet, we have joined a Fundraiser along with many other clubs called Donate a Ticket.

"This website gives supporters the opportunity to donate the price of their ticket to the games we missed with the early suspension of the season.

"The games which we missed were against Nairn County home and away Buckie Thistle and Huntly at home and Forres Mechanics away.

"If you think you would have attended any of these games we are asking if you could donate the cost of your ticket to Turriff United.

"We will be happy to accept any donation no matter how small and can assure you that any donation will go to Turriff United in full as the website charges no fee for the transaction.

"We thank you in anticipation for any and all of your support which will help us through these difficult times."

Fans generosity has already seen the team climb off the bottom of the table to overtake Montrose and Clydebank, with their sights firmly set on the Highland League leading three of Brora, Wick and Clachnacuddin, themselves trailing leagues leading three Raith Rovers, St Roch FC and Stenhousemuir.
