Jags had already completed a move to bring in attacking midfielder Ross Morrison from the Coasters on the same length of contract earlier this month.

Manager Lewis Mackinnon is also expected to confirm a third summer capture over this weekend.

He said on the club’s website on signing of Paterson: “Like Ross Morrison, he comes to Buckie as the next step in their progression, and is a very capable central midfielder with tremendous fitness levels."

"As I’ve said previously, he has performed very well against us in the past and I expect him to come in and bring that level and more to Buckie. Again another Morayshire lad with great hunger and appetite to do well."

Paterson (28) said: “I’m delighted to get the deal done and looking forward to joining up with the boys and getting a good pre-season under our belts."
