North junior club Dyce lands place alongside SPFL and Highland League sides as new members of Aberdeenshire and District FA

DYCE Juniors have been accepted into the Aberdeenshire and District Football Association.

The north junior Superleague side will compete in next season's Aberdeenshire Cup and Shield competitions alongside Highland League and SPFL sides.

They are the third junior side to become Aberdeenshire FA members after Banks o' Dee and Aberdeen University.

The Iain Mair Park club will also play in the Aberdeenshire under-20 league.

Later this month, the Aberdeenshire Cup draw is expected to be made with all 14 members clubs in the hat.

As well as the three junior clubs, Aberdeen, Peterhead and Cove Rangers will field teams in the tournament.

Eight Highland League clubs are also involved, with Buckie Thistle, Deveronvale, Formartine United, Fraserburgh, Huntly, Inverurie Locos, Keith and Turriff United bidding for honours.
