Highland League: Tuirriff United stun Forres Mechanics with six-goal show while Keith make it four-in-a-row thanks to Aberdeen loan teenager’s strike

Aberdeen loan striker Cammy Wilson was Keith’s goal hero as the Maroons made it four Highland League wins in a row.

The 18-year-old scored the only goal of Keith’s 1-0 win against Clach at Kynoch Park.

Craig Ewen’s side have beaten Wick Academy, Deveronvale, Buckie Thistle and now Clach in their last four league outings and are just four points off a top half spot.

Forres Mechanics crashed to a 6-1 home defeat to Turriff United.

It looked good for the Cans when Calum Frame’s deflected effort put them ahead inside a minute.

But Turriff turned the game around, with Callan Gray quickly levelling and Mackenzie Taylor putting the away side in front on 25 minutes.

Second half goals by Reece McKeown, Kieran Yeats, John Allan and Timi Fatona rubbed salt in Forres wounds.

Rothes had conceded 18 goals in two home meetings with Formartine United, but Ronnie Sharp’s men produced a battling effort against the same opponents in Pitmedden and just lost 1-0.

Deveronvale’s fine season continued with a 3-0 win at Strathspey thistle, who had Paul Brindle sent off in the first half.

A Ben Hermiston double and an Olek Dlugosz goal led Vale to victory.

Huntly beat Wick Academy for the fourth time this season, recording a 2-1 success at Harmsworth Park.

Angus Grant’s double puts Huntly into sixth spot, just a point off third, while a late Gordon macNab goal earned Wick a consolation.
