The final stages of winter leagues at the Garioch Indoor Bowling Club saw in the Senior Triples a win again for Harry McIntosh, who has won this competition on a regular basis.

His triple pool of players are Ron Booth, Ian Beattie, Gordon Spence and himself.

Club correspondent Mike Barron said: "It is not a coincidence, but his group, with Ian Ingram, are also part of the Bill Conn 4s, who won, the 2021/22 Senior Fours title.

"Runner up in this Senior Triples competition was the John Nicol rink who cannot complain, as they were well beaten 16-11 when they met.

"The McIntosh record was played 11, won 9, drew 1, and his only defeat was to Doug Clark whose comment was, that "they deserved to win, having a lead in mid match", but McIntosh came back, and it was a 13th end draw from Clark that caused the defeat.

"McIntosh’s draw was against Robert Pate, in a low scoring match, finishing 9-9."

The final stages of the Senior winter competitions concluded last week, with George Adam taking the Senior Open Triples, and Gordon Sievewright took the Senior Pairs.

Bill Barclay won the Senior Mixed Triples, while Alison Michie won the Senior Ladies Triples.

Geoff Simpson won the Club Open Triples, and Alison Michie took the Ladies Triples.

Ron McDougall, took the Open Pairs pushing Carla Banks into second place, but she had her revenge winning the Evening Open Triples.

As Mike concluded: "Now roll on the summer indoor play!"
