Ninety drivers from across the breadth of Scotland are set to contest for the annual Scottish Kart Championships at Boyndie Drome this weekend.
Across the two days, aspiring drivers from as young as six years old will battle it out at this prestigious event hosted by Grampian Kart Club (GKC) based a few miles from Banff.
Trophies up for grabs carry names of past Champions including household names David Coulthard, Allan McNish and Paul di Resta.
The club encourage and welcome spectators free of charge to the event to cheer on potential Formula One stars of the future.
There will be seven categories of kart competing this weekend including the impressive 6-speed gearbox karts which will tickle 100mph down the Boyndie straight.
GKC last hosted this event in 2018 as the Scottish kart clubs take it turn about to host the annual event.
Over the years the not-for-profit club run by volunteers has gone from strength to strength on the site of the formal WWII airfield at Boyndie Drome and is celebrating its 60th year since it’s conception.
Club Chairman Sheryl Borton said: “A lot of work has gone in by the club’s team of volunteers to ensure this weekend is a showcase of Scottish Kart Racing.
"We look forward to welcoming the public along to enjoy a weekend of extremely close and competitive racing.”
