HUNTLY Golf Club's championships drew large crowds to see high quality play and an exciting finish.
It was close all the way in the gents championship with Graham Nicol, who led after three rounds, being caught by Duncan Ralph.
Both golfers scored a 72-hole total of 278, meaning a play-off was required to separate them.
Nicol and Ralph contested a three-hole play-off but still a winner couldn't be found as both finished on even par over the three extra holes.
The final moved to sudden death and Ralph had a six-foot birdie putt on the next hole to win it, which he missed.
The players moved on to a second sudden death hole, their 77th hole of the championships and Nicol managed to roll in a birdie to clinch victory by the narrowest of margins.
The ladies' championship was won in convincing style by 20-year-old Lucy Buckley, who claimed her fourth consecutive title by a 12-shot margin from Rose Anderson.
Andrew Sim won the junior championship.
