BUCKIE Ladies slammed six passed Orkney Women to continue their strong start to the league campaign.
The sides met in Inverness for the rearranged fixture, with the islanders no doubt wishing they had not bothered making the trip as Buckie raced to a 3-0 half-time lead. It was more of the same after the break with Buckie adding a further three without reply.
On form Catie Carter bagged a brace, as did Caitlin Carnegie. Alena Gardiner grabbed a gaol, as did Emily McAusland, who was playing her final game for the team before heading off to go travelling.
Buckie Ladies manager Mel Smith paid tribute to the forward's contribution to the club.
"I'd like to thank Emily for all her hard work, dedication and commitment to us as a club," she said.
"She's a very talented, amazing player as well as being a lovely, bubbly person who'll be missed by us all here at the club.
"I'm really glad she finished off her time with the club with a goal, which was a screamer of a free kick."
While the game was not a classic, Smith was nevertheless delighted with the result.
She continued: "We didn't play our best football today, it was quite scrappy at times.
"Once we got the ball back down on the deck I felt we did much better. I'd good strength in depth to choose from, which is a big help.
"As always, we'll take things away from the game to work on in training."
Buckie Ladies' packed schedule continues, with a crunch away clash in the league to Caley on Sunday before returning to the Highland capital a week later to face Clach in the semi-final of the League Cup.
Smith added: "We've two tough games coming up.
"Caley will be a big test for us but it shows how far we've come that we're going there hoping to win.
"We've got a bit of score to settle with Clach. We met them in our very first semi-final and they gave us a bit of a doing, to be honest, so we're keen to level things."
Both games are scheduled to kick off at 12 noon. See Buckie Ladies' Facebook pace for club news and match updates.
