BUCKIE Ladies enjoyed the perfect preparation for their first ever cup semi-final when they put Kirkwall to the sword at the Royal Academy Sports Centre, Inverness.

Becca McMillan and Gemma Geddes were both at the double with Steph Greenlees chipping in as the team battled the heat with barebones resources.

Assistant manager Taylor Thain (pictured) said: "I'm delighted with the score and it could've been more.

"Their first goal was offside and we'd a couple of clear penalty shouts turned down.

"I'm really chuffed as they all gave 150 per cent in really difficult, hot conditions."

Player of the match was Sara Christie for her staunch defensive display.

The Ladies now face Clach at Merson Park this Sunday in the cup semi-final, kick-off 2pm.
