Highland League Lossiemouth's youth development kids have lit up the Moray league and they defeated Portsoy 8-3 in their latest match on Friday.

Two early goals set the young Coasters up for their victory.

The first arrived after a long ball from Kyle Thomson allowed Branford Edgar to beat his marker to the ball and drill a ball across goal for Connor Mitchell to tap in.

Then an interception on six minutes led to a through ball to Aiden MacKay, who had peeled of his marker and went on to drill a shot low and hard past the keeper.

Portsoy nearly got themselves back into the game but Lossie keeper Rian Wilson made an excellent reflex save from a header.

After an even spell of play, Lossie stepped up a gear to score four more goals before half time.

On 23 minutes a cross that wasn't completely cleared fell to Matthew Watson who took a touch then drove a composed finish across the goalkeeper into the net.

Three minutes later Edgar unleashing a 30yard shot that wasn't fully collected by the Portsoy goalie and MacKay side-footed home the loose ball.

MacKay then flicked the ball on after 33 minutes for Mitchell, who nutmegged his marker and advanced to slot a cool finish low past the keeper for his second goal.

The long ball proved problematic for Portsoy five minutes before half time and MacKay went clean through, initially denied by a touch from the keeper before composing himself to slot home for his hat-trick.

Number seven arrived early in the second half as Jordan Clark outmuscled a defender to bear down on goal and fire a shot off the post from a tight angle, with Edgar picking up the scraps to score his first of the night.

To their credit, Portsoy upped their efforts and began to trouble Lossie with their own long balls, leading to a corner which was converted by Stuart Flett in the centre.

From 7-0 it became 7-2 when another good Portsoy delivery was bundled home by Duncan Philip.

The goals dried up from there but in the closing stages, both sides added to their tally.

MacKay nodded home his fourth of the game for Lossie from a Clark cross, then Shaun Petrie raced through to round the keeper and net a Portsoy consolation.

Aberlour Villa came from behind to clock up their second consecutive 3-1 win, this time against visitors FC Fochabers.

It was the away team who drew first blood with a defence-splitting pass to Stuart Harrold, who slid the ball under keeper Paul Robertson into the net.

But Fochabers' challenge was hampered by a red card for their centre back who pulled Villa forward David Blackhall down as he raced through on goal.

Aberlour took advantage of the extra man to level through a Marcus Murray volley from inside the box, making it 1-1 at the break.

In the second half the numerical edge gave Villa more opportunities, one of which led to Barry Grant firing through the legs of keeper Kieran Burchell to put the home side in front.

Stuart Simpson then finished things off with a brilliant drive which flew low into the corner of the net.
