It was a busy weekend for the glitter girls of Garioch Gymnastics Club who currently train at the Garioch Community Centre, Inverurie.

Both the Level 4 and Gordon Forster teams took to the floor in the Scottish Team championships in Perth.

The Garioch Level 4 team were made up of Matangi Sankriti (12 from Westhill), Thea Klopper (11 from Oldmeldrum) and Leah Douglas (11 from Westhill).

An unfortunate injury outside of gymnastics to one of their team mates only a few days previously meant the girls had to compete as a team of three (out of a maximum five) so there was no room for error and all scores had to count.

It was an extremely tough competition with some excellent teams competing.

The Level 4 team placed a very impressive fifth overall with Leah placing second overall and Thea just behind in fourth place.

A fantastic result considering the pressure the girls were under.

After glittering performances from all five girls they secured the silver team medal in this event.

Individually Izzy placed silver overall with Erin placing fourth and Megan fifth Overall.
