The latest round of fixtures in the North East Scotland Football Association's Gordon Leask Memorial Cup saw mixed fortunes for the welfare teams.

Banff Rovers welcomed Longside Thistle to Canal park on Saturday and bounced back from their 2-1 loss last week to win 9-0.

Rovers had the early pressure and took the lead when the attacker slotted the ball past the Longside keeper.

A crossed ball from Rovers found a home player in the Longside box and amid a scramble he managed to make it 2-0.

Longside then had a chance to get back into the game when a player was through on goal, but his shot was wide of the goal.

Rovers made it 3-0 just before half-time when the ball fell kindly to one of their players and he made no mistake with his effort.

The home side continued their momentum in the second half and scored two goals in quick succession.

A Rovers player was then brought down in the box and the referee awarded a penalty, which was scored to make it 6-0.

The home side were ruthless in their attack and scored another three goals.

They had the ball in the net for a 10th time, but the referee ruled it offside.

Fetterangus was the venue for the game between Mintlaw and Macduff.

The game started evenly with a few chances for each side and conditions underfoot playing a part.

Mintlaw went ahead when a ball over the top was not dealt with allowing the striker an easy finish.

Macduff were soon two behind when a mix up at the back led to an own goal.

The away side then created a few chances but were unable to find a way through until Kacper Kwiatkowski stepped up and curled home a free-kick from 25 yards.

The gap was soon two again when a blocked shot broke to the Mintlaw attacker, who looked to be offside, but the goal was given.

In the second half the home side scored the first goal when the attacker cut inside and a deflected strike left the keeper with no chance.

It was soon five for Mintlaw when another deflection deceived the keeper. The sixth followed soon after with a tap in at the back post following some good play.

Macduff then started to create more chances but good saves and a few last ditch tackles stopped them in their tracks.

With Macduff out on their feet the hosts added a seventh in stoppage time.

The other results from Saturday's game were Glenugie United beat Cuminestown 4-3; Mormond Thistle defeated Invercairn United 2-1; and Station thrashed New Pitsligo 6-0. On Sunday, Elizabethan Link Up got the better of Methlick winning 3-2; Bellslea won 3-1 against Peterhead United; and Haven beat Buchanhaven 6-4.

The fixtures for this weekend are Saturday, November 21: St Combs v Peterhead United; Station v Glenugie United; and Cuminestown v Boddam United. Sunday, November 22: Macduff v Bellslea.
