The victory took Buckie above Deveronvale, who weren’t playing, and Huntly who went down to their heaviest defeat of the season at home to leaders Brechin City.

The Taysiders raced two goals ahead at Christie Park through Dayle Robertson and Ewan Loudon, before Angus Grant’s 25th goal of the season pegged them back before half time.

Fraser MacLeod netted City’s third just after half time, Grant had a penalty saved for Huntly and Robertson added two more goals for his hat-trick to complete a 5-1 Brechin win.

Brora Rangers stay in touch with Brechin but needed a strong second half show after being stifled for 45 minutes by Lossiemouth.

The Coasters kept the scoreline to 0-0 at Dudgeon Park at half time, but strikes by Tom Kelly, Tony Dingwall, Craig MacKenzie, Connor Bunce and Andrew MacLeod (pen) in a devastating 22-minute Cattachs spell earned a 5-0 victory for the north side.

Rothes remain in trouble near the bottom, going down 4-1 at home to Nairn County.

Doubles by ex-Elgin City pair Ben Barron and Matty Wright took the away side to full points, with Tom Brady netting for Rothes to make it 2-1 at one stage.

Turriff United made it five wins and a draw in their last six outings by edging out Keith 2-1 at The Haughs, Reece McKeown getting the only goal on 57 minutes.

Forres Mechanics’ home clash with Formartine United was a late postponement, and Inverurie Locos and Banks o’ Dee fought out a goalless draw at Harlaw Park.

Dee keeper Daniel Hoban saved a first half Callum Dingwall penalty while the Aberdeen side had Iain Vigurs sent off for a second booking just before half time.

Fraserburgh moved up the table with a late winner in a 3-2 success over Clachnacuddin.

Marley Sweenie-Rowe’s early header had Broch in front and they looked set for victory when Paul Young made it 2-0 on 72 minutes. But James Anderson netted twice in seven minutes to draw Clach level, until Jamie Beagrie struck to give Fraserburgh victory.
