Buckie Thistle manager Lewis Mackinnon is ‘over the moon’ to sign Fin Allen from Elgin City on three-year deal
He was a sensation on loan, and now he’s made the move permanent.
Fin Allen is a Buckie Thistle player after completing a transfer on a three-year deal from Elgin City, joining Ross Morrison and Ross Paterson as fresh faces at Victoria Park next season.
Allen (20) joins Jags as part of the deal that takes winger Jack MacIver into the SPFL with Elgin next season.
Buckie manager Lewis Mackinnon couldn’t hide his delight at securing the services of a player who looked excellent in a loan spell from City last term.
“I’m over the moon to get Fin on board permanently on a three-year deal,”£ said Mackinnon on the club’s website.
“Fin was our number one target after his performances while on loan here, and I am delighted to get such a young talented player on board with a bright future in the game.
“Fin brings an array of attributes to our forward line which will compliment the quality we already have within our attack.
“With Elgin of course feeling the same about Jack MacIver, it was an obvious transfer arrangement for both clubs.
“We wish Jack all the best at Elgin, where I’m sure he will thrive having been a key player for Buckie for the past couple of seasons.”
Allen made almost 50 appearances in Elgin’s first team since breaking through as a 16-year-old, but his time at Borough Briggs was dogged by an injury problem which he has now overcome.
“I’m buzzing to sign permanently and get back into pre-season with everyone,” said the player on Buckie’s website.
“Hopefully we can start the season the same way we finished the last.”
Allen, who was also on loan at Huntly last term, netted on his Jags debut and went on to score eight times in his opening ten outings.
