The tie was switched to a neutral venue at Cove Rangers' Balmoral Stadium and Huntly came from behind to record a 3-1 success.

Huntly will now head to League 1 side Dumbarton in the second round on Saturday.

With Cammy Booth back from injury to captain the team, Huntly were eager to defeat their second Lowland League opponents in the competition, having ousted Dalbeattie Star in the preliminaries.

But it was Colts who drew first blood with a goal by Fraser Team just two minutes into the tie.

Huntly levelled when Glenn Murison curled home from the edge of the box on the half hour.

Reece McKeown continued his impressive scoring form for Huntly by adding to his two goals in the last round to put his team in front early in the second half.

Victory was secured in the closing minutes when new signing Gavin Elphinstone went through to net his first goal in Huntly colours.

Huntly's win made them the sixth Highland League club to reach the second round, joining Buckie, Fraserburgh, Nairn, Keith and Formartine in Saturday's action.

Brora Rangers could yet become the seventh side to make it through, but their tie at Camelon Juniors was postponed for a fourth time on Wednesday after initially being abandoned on Boxing Day.

The teams will try again to play the match on Saturday, with the winners at home to hHarts.
